King Charles III will be coronated on Saturday, and you’ll never ever think who China is sending out for the event: Vice President Han Zheng, the previous head of Beijing’s Central Leading Group on Hong Kong and Macau Affairs. He’s the Communist Celebration male who led China’s repudiation of its treaty with the UK over its previous nest.
As Prince, Charles participated in the 1997 event when the British handed Hong Kong over to China as part of their Sino-British Joint Statement. Checking out a message from Queen Elizabeth, the Prince stated Britain was “happy with the rights and liberties which Hong Kong individuals delight in.” Beijing guaranteed to keep those liberties undamaged for 50 years under the Joint Statement.
